I know what your thinking: Diddy Kong is a Nintendo character and that's that.
Well, I think that Diddy Kong is also Microsoft icon.
This is a theory so it might not be true.
When Rare released Donkey Kong Country on the SNES the game was a massive success.Nintendo wanted to know more about Diddy Kong and Rare said he is DK's best friend and Nintendo liked it.
Rare added a Nintendo logo on his hat. When Donkey Kong Country 2 Diddy Kongs quest came out it introduced Dixie Kong and Cranky Kong and Rare made them and they made Donkey Country 3 Dixie kong's double trouble and the SNES became an awesome console because of Donkey Kong Country.Then when Nintendo 64 came around Rare broke into pieces to make Banjo Kazooie,Goldeneye007 and Blast corps and Twelve tales Conker 64 (Which is now know as Conkers bad fur day) and in 1999 Rare knew it was time for Donkey Kong to come to the N64 so then Rare broke in half again when they were gonna make Perfect dark and Banjo Tooie. Donkey Kong 64 was an exploring game when Banjo Kazooie cam out they knew that they needed to make a lot of collectibles and DK 64 set off a world record for most collectibles found in a video game and it was a massive hit and then in 2001 when the GameCube was announced.Rare promised a new Donkey Kong game but on September 24th, 2002 Rare was bought out by Microsoft and they left Nintendo and they didn't make a DK game. But Rare never gave Nintendo the rights to Diddy and Dixie and the others so there for that's why I think Microsoft owns Diddy Kong because Rare is now a Microsoft company. But I guess we will never know. Maybe Microsoft will try to get the rights to Diddy Kong. But Rare hasn't told anyone about Diddy Kong so I don't know.
