Nintendo had Donkey kong as a great gaming icon from Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr and they wanted to put Dk on a console so when the snes rolled around they got British developers Rareware to make a game with the ape.So they thought about it and came up with this
This 2D 2 player platformer had the first player as Dk and the second player as Rare's creation Diddy Kong.This game was reciced very well and fans wanted more so they made Donkey kong country two Diddys quest.This game said bye to Dk and added Dixie kong another creation by rare.This game was good but not a great.
Fans wanted more of the ape and Rare and Nintendo were more than happy to make another on their new console the Nintendo 64.Rare worked on it after they released Banjo Kazooie and the team broke in half to make Banjo Tooie,Conker's bad fur day and in between those games they made Donkey Kong 64.Rare had to make a expansion card so the game would'nt destroy the 64
Fans loved Donkey Kong 64 so much that when Nintendo announced the gamecube fans wanted a Donkey kong game.But in September 24 2002 Rareware was bought out by Microsoft and rare could no longer make Donkey kong games and they left Nintendo confused an they didn't make a DK game for the gamecube.Later in 2010 when the Wii came out Nintendo released Donkey kong country returns and this game was a master hit.When the wii U came around they relasied Donkey Kong tropical freeze.
