Overview
Do you have a PS4? Do you like racing games? Want good graphics? Well look no further. Driveclub is a racing video game developed Evolution Studios and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PS4.Gameplay
As the name suggests, players can create and join their own clubs and customize their cars paint job. There is a single event mode where players can race the AI, drift and do time trials. You can also play in the campaign mode also known as tour mode. I think this game has the best graphics and sound on any racing game I've seen so far. It has an arcade style like gameplay where points/fame are rewarded for gaining a place running a stretch without collisions, drifting and much more. The fame is used to level up and as you level up you unlock new vehicles and paint jobs. One downside is there are no oval shaped tracks. most of the tracks consist of many turns but there are flags on the outside of the turn to tell you how sharp the turn is.
Graphics and Sound
The game includes a day night cycle and you can change the weather. The maps and car models look realistic and the game is a last to play. One thing I really like is the interior design of the car. If you play from the driver's view on the big screen, the sound and graphics will blow you away as you make high speed turns and overtake cars.
I feel that the AI is a little bit too aggressive as they have crashed or tried to push me to the side of the track in their attempts to overtake me. I can't say I'm much better though but it's something they could fix to make the game more enjoyable. one feature that I like is that you can change the controls settings from the default left stick to the motion sensor feature on the PS4. This adds to the realism as you can actually rotate the controller to control the car.
Pros
- Excellent graphics and sounds
- Many maps and cars to choose from
- Easy controls
- Different levels of AI difficulty
Cons
- Lack of gamemodes
- Over aggressive AI
- Bad multiplayer
Overall
8/10
The graphics, sound and variety of cars and maps make this game extremely enjoyable and a blast to play. One thing that they could add is support for two players. Although this would make the screen smaller and therefore harder to see the surroundings and appreciate them this would be a great update as I'm sure many people would like to race with their friends of family. Currently the closest thing to that is the ghost feature. Which allows you to see you previous performance that track.
